WARRNAMBOOL THEATRE LAB
The One That Got Away
In July 2025, WTC presented “The One That Got Away” – a scriptwriting and performance event over two weekends. Facilitated by local playwright and director, Ross McCorkell and his co-writer, Lex Waterreus, the session explored the theme “The One That Got Away." Participants had the opportunity to submit a piece for feedback and we then met at the Roayl Hotel for an intimate performance.
Tales from the Morgue
In June 2024, WTC joined forces with the F Project and Warrnambool Storytelling Festival to bring TALES FROM THE MORGUE: a site specific writing and performance event. WTC members met at F Project to sit, write, research, discuss and 'feel' the building and grounds as an old funeral home (the F Project building was an old funeral parlour and has some interesting tales to tell!) Facilitated by local playwright, Megan Twycross, the writing workshop led to fabulous night of theatre; a night of magical storytelling, some laughs, some sombre moments and left us all with lots to think about.
Short & Sweets
In 2022, Shorts & Sweets was an opportunity to get together, chat all things theatre and enjoy some original pieces, including excerpts of plays and monologues by members of the Warrnambool Theatre Lab.
The Theatre Lab
In 2021, WTC's The Theatre Lab saw 5 diverse short plays written by locals workshopped and then performed to an appreciative audience. The workshop allowed the writers to see their work performed for the first time. An incredibly valuable feedback tool in the honing of their stories!
