REHEARSED READINGS

A rehearsed reading is a great way to enjoy the fun of theatre in a low stakes way. It’s only a three evening commitment and no lines need to be memorised as scripts are used on the night of the public reading.

We meet for an initial reading where parts are allocated as we read through the play, regularly swapping around. Parts are then allocated by the director/s and scripts are distributed for cast to familiarise themselves with. At a second rehearsal some elements of props, costume and some movement are introduced.

Finally, we perform the reading (with scripts in hand) in the Lighthouse Theatre Foyer to a public audience. Entry is free for WTC members or by gold coin donation for non-members with drinks available at bar prices.

Keep an eye out for more information regarding our next rehearsed reading!
